Mission Report
Mission Board Report
November 15, 2011

Final cost for roof repair is as follows:

Acme Building Matter    $452.25
Acme Building Matter    $77.00
Acme Building Matter    $127.90
Labor   $280.00
Total   $937.15

The roof repair work was done by two men who frequent the mission – one is a frequent volunteer at the clothing house and is a student at Mott College. With the rain we had the roof has not leaked into the Dr’s office but we did have a slight drip in the Kitchen next to the stove but it was slight. John said he would go up and check out the spot where the duct work comes through and put another patch on it and another coat of sealer.

The plaster ceiling has been removed in the food pantry building and the nails are being pulled from the roof joists.  The walls have been removed except where the old garage doors were located.  I will be meeting with the contractor soon to see what the next move is for this project.  The electrician is supplying all the necessary electrical supplies and labor though I might need to line up some helpers.  The furnace and air conditioner, I believe, will be installed by some volunteers and I will find out soon if the Fenton Church is going to supply the studs and wall board.  We will have to pay for the ceiling insulation foam, the cellulose wall insulation (which I think we can blow in with rented equipment), repair a couple of leaks in the roof and do something about the floors.  I am still working on the bathroom and plumbing.  If it doesn’t go well we will have to pay for those items as well though I believe I have someone who can install it but need the licensing to pull the permit.   No cost figures at this point.

Thanksgiving Dinner is at The International Academy again this year and we are sending volunteers to help.

Our Christmas party is scheduled for Saturday December 17th.  The mission will be open December 19-22 for lunch.  The clothing house will not be open so it can be put back together for January 2, opening.  The Mission and clothing house will be closed December 23 – January1

Respectfully Submitted,
