Mission Board Report
January 19, 2010
This has been an exciting month with a lot of action. After the meeting in December we completed preparation for the Christmas party and all went well. Volunteers did a great job serving, the cooks did a great job cooking and we distributed the turkeys to those who had dinner with us. As I mentioned in a letter to the Laandal family, one of the recipients of a turkey was nearly in tears as she thanked us for the turkey saying that now she could serve a great Christmas dinner to her family.
I am scheduled to speak at two Nazarene churches in January/February and will speak to a women’s missionary group this Thursday. The Vision group is scheduled to meet on Thursday, January 28th at the home of the Bowsers. This is also the task force that will bring recommendations back to this board for action.
You will see that I am continuing on the necessary work for the Concert at Richfield. George Tracy of Tracy Stephens has agreed to again format and print the program and the posters for the concert. I am asking that each Board member work to sell tickets to this event. They are not expensive - $10.00 each with $12.00 at the door. I have picked up a couple of new ads but as always we are likely to loose a few. I cannot tell you how much the board involvement is needed in this event, There is no reason why we cannot raise one months expenses with an event like this and next year we will set the goal higher.
The kitchen has been busy this past month serving the numbers of people who come for lunch.
