Mission Board Report
November 2009
At this time we are preparing for the Thanksgiving dinner here at the Mission on Thanksgiving Day. Everything appears to be in order for a great day. Jim is overseeing the meal and I am the go-for guy. We are going to serve the meal in the dining room only this year since we are having smaller attendance with all the choices people have for their meal that day and several groups are bussing people around to attend the meal at their facility.
I have received a grant request form that I can use to request additional funds for the walk-in-freezer. I will keep you informed as to the outcome of this funding request. God has granted a couple of opportunities to speak at churches since our Pastor and Spouse retreat in October and I have others lined up following the New Year.
I am continuing work on the February Concert at Richfield. I am still waiting for confirmation from the Quartet, Reconciled and a Praise Band, Burning Heart. Both have indicated they are willing but I don’t have a contract with them yet. Please begin to talk this up by the first of the year to help bring the people in for this melodious event. The talent is outstanding and we expect to have a great evening and hopefully we will have a larger turnout for this concert as we grow this event each year.
The kitchen has been busy this past month serving the numbers of people who come for lunch.
