Mission Board Report
March 2009
We are thankful for all our donors for remembering us month to month. With our local economy in the tank every donation is put to good use in feeding and taking care of those in this neighborhood. Keep praying for us as we move on through the year and face the challenges that come our way.
Coming up is our Easter Dinner on April 11th, the Saturday before Easter. We will be in need of candy, Easter baskets and volunteers to help serve the meal. Our Easter bunny is planning on being in attendance and the kids will really enjoy having time to visit with (her). With the painting that has been completed at the Clothing House we are ready for a good crowd to come in and join us that Saturday.
This year we are planning on staying open during most of July. We will only be serving lunch on Tuesday-Thursdays for the last four weeks of the month. We will be closed for lunch June 29,30, and July 1&2. The clothing house will be closed June 29 – July 13th. The food pantry will be closed the same dates as the days we will not be serving lunch. I am putting out a call for volunteers who will not be at the campground for the week of July 21-23 to help us serve lunch.
I have heard back form the city concerning the addition to the clothing house and there are some things we need to address with the city yet. I am negotiating with the land bank for the property next to the clothing house since we must have 5' of easement between the property line and a handicap ramp and that is a real problem with the layout of the present lot.
