Mission Board Report
February 2009

This year has started with a bang. We have been busy with the lunches, the food pantry and the baby room and much time was taken up in getting the first Valentine Concert up and running. My thanks to all those who made this event possible. George Tracy with the fantastic posters and programs, the bakers and pastry chefs who made all the desserts and the volunteers working the kitchen, and hosting the event and of course all the musical artists who gave such great performances on the platform on the 14th. We had about 200 in attendance and when all is finalized we should have made just under $2000.00. The response of those who attended the concert was good and they seemed to enjoy the variety of musical styles.

I would like to commend the cooks, Jim and Ed for the meals they have planned for lunch. I have heard nothing but good reports from the people who are having lunch and they are appreciative for the good food.

Last week I took the preliminary plans for the addition to the clothing house to the City of Flint for their approval. I have not heard back from them yet and expect it will take another two weeks for a response.
